About the Artist

Wendy MacCordy lives in Fairfield, CT and has lived in Fairfield County for over 28 years. Wendy majored in Art History and Fine Arts at Dickinson College.  She then continued her studies at the Parson School of Design in New York, New York. Her specialty is watercolors and has expanded her love of art into oil painting over the last several years, particularly with pet portraits. Wendy currently is a faculty member at Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan, CT where she has taught for over 12 years.

Wendy loves the spontaneous beauty of the watercolor medium as well as enjoys the texture of oil painting.   Wendy has painted in a studio environment surrounded by fellow artists for many years. She’s continued growing as an artist learning from renowned painters including Charles Reid, and her mentor, Arlene Skutch.

She has received increased recognition for her work and regularly accepts custom painting assignments. Wendy spends most of her time teaching and painting commissioned artwork.  She loves that she can capture a special moment for someone and put her passion for painting into creating heartwarming, meaningful portraits of pets, homes, vacation spots, and even beloved boats. Wendy’s paintings are in several private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
